The bullet points read: 1) Build repositories and platforms that belong to the public. 2) Resist colorblind, racist, sexist technology development. 3? Reduce technology over-development and e-waste. 4) Make information research visible to the public. 5) Never give up.

Paper Frogs and Noisy Cricket will work together to deliver a new phase in the Co-op Foundation’s Federation Programme. This has been made possible thanks to the generous support of Luminate.

Building on the legacy of The Federation

The Federation was a co-working and event space in Manchester, which was home to a community of social and digital innovators. It closed its doors early in 2021.

The Co-op Foundation’s first Federation Programme supported a group of ethical enterprises who were based at The Federation, providing them with a space to work and connect. The ethos and values of The Federation was an incredible beacon for gathering these values-driven social enterprises, activists and change makers together on a collective mission to make things better.

The impact and learning from the work that was done there was incredible, but it was clear the organisations would continue to flourish and go on doing great things after the co-working space closed.

          Putting society first

Paper Frogs is delighted to have the opportunity to collaborate with some of these organisations in the months ahead, through the new Federation Programme.

Our aim is to challenge inequality and work together to encourage delivery of digitally-enabled products and services that are inclusive, respect people’s rights and safeguard their privacy. We’ll be championing participation, co-design and approaches that put societal benefit first.
